Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced FULL-TIME TEMPORARY Proofreader to service a medical device company in Chicago.

Under the general supervision of the Enterprise Data Quality Analyst, proofreader will be responsible for reviewing the content of multiple versions of individual graphic documents to identify any unintentional/unrecorded document changes. These changes could be a change in text, a change in text properties, addition or removal of icons, etc. The work will be intensive, under tight time constraints, and must meet project deadlines.

The Proofreader will be expected to pay strict attention during the review of at least 3 versions of the same document to identify all changes from one version to the next. These changes will be compiled and reviewed against the Graphic Text Approval document to determine if any or all of the changes were intended to be made. Identification and isolation of ANY unintended changes must then be noted so that correction can be made.

Strong attention to detail for accuracy is needed, the ability to multi-task and good communication skills are required. Excellent organizational skills, good project tracking and scheduling skills are required. Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Quark and Documentum are preferred. Good knowledge of graphic design and elements used with it are a plus. A background in English and Medical Terminology would be very helpful to identify grammatical errors and to understand unique medical terms in a device's instructions for use.
